![]() A large company hosted a luncheon for its employees. They hired the best caterers in town and had a huge feast. All employees were allowed come back for seconds and thirds. They even got take-home baggies! Several of the employees were enjoying their meals and talking about how fortunate they were to be fed so well by such a kind employer when they noticed a few other employees sitting against the wall. One was eating an old crusty tuna sandwich. The other two just looked sad and pitiful. The first group of employees called over, “Hey, aren’t you guys going to eat? There’s plenty for everyone!” The hungry employees just sighed and complained about how long the line was, that they had food allergies, or that they weren’t sure if they’d like the food that was brought in. One of them got angry and told the others just to mind their own business. This is how it is with believers- some are partaking in all that God has to offer and others are just sitting on the sidelines, complaining, hurting, and suffering- missing out, by their own design, on what has already been given to them. I’m not saying that Kingdom living on this earth is pain-free or perfect- that won’t happen until we meet Jesus in His glory. However, we do have access into victorious living! We’ve been given a feast of Truth (John 14:6), righteousness (Rom. 6:18), grace (Titus 3:7) and spiritual fruit (Gal. 5:22-23). We have been given spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:4-11), the keys to the Kingdom (Mat. 16:19) and authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19). Not only that, but we are more than conquerors (Rom. 8:37) and have access to an abundant life (John 10:10). Are you sitting against the cafeteria wall, tired, grouchy and hungry? Fill up your plate and taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8)!
