I have to admit, I've always thought Stevie Nicks sounded like a billy goat and have never been much of a fan. Until lately, that is. I'm not sure if I've somehow grown in lyrical maturity and perception or it's time for another introspective growth spurt.
But, dang Stevie, you got some therapeutic aptitude. Let's reflect for a moment, shall we? So I'm back to the velvet underground Back to the floor that I love To a room with some lace and paper flowers Back to the gypsy that I was ~~~ Well, I've been afraid of changing Cause I built my life around you But time makes you bolder Children get older And I'm getting older too ~~~ No one knows How I feel What I say Unless you read between my lines ~~~ And if I was a child And the child was enough Enough for me to love Enough to love These lyrics speak to the human experiences of loss, loneliness, facing unwanted change and rising above the ashes. Ahhh. (Or, baaa...) Stevie, I remember you from my childhood. I guess I just wasn't ready for your midlife introspection just yet. But, here I am. And I'm sorry about that goat comment.
