![]() First Disclaimer: If you are an atheist, agnostic or other type of anti-Bible sort, this post is not for you. Maybe you will like some of my other posts, or some other blog. Either way, much love. I wish you the best. Second Disclaimer: If you are a weak-willed, "carnal," or otherwise emotionally sensitive Christian, this post is not for you. Much love. Read your Bible. For the rest of you... I have a challenge. Basically, it's a challenge that stems from my disgust with lukewarm, of-this-world, prosperity-minded, part-time, power-lacking churchianity. You can take it or leave it. I challenge you to look at yourself- how you spend you time, where you place your emotional energy, what kind of leadership you submit to... basically how you spend your life. And, yes, I'm talking to me just as much as I am to you. It's time to take Christ seriously. How much time do you spend calling forth "best life now" blessings vs seeking God? How many times have you declared healing /prosperity/ good will /fair weather into the atmosphere vs falling on your face before a Holy God? How many times have you asked for comfortable answers to prayer vs God's Will- even if it means going through the refining fire? How much time do you spend watching television vs reading Scripture or listening to real Bible teaching? How often do you listen to or watch fleshly (sinful) things... things that celebrate what Christ died for? How often does your pastor preach on blessings vs holy living, repentance, forgiveness, sin and hell? How often are you convicted by Godly sorrow that leads to repentance vs worldly sorrow of not having personal satisfaction in this earthly life? When is the last time you searched Scripture just to get to know Him better vs to find instant comfort for your emotions or current situation? When is the last time you cried out to God to search your heart and cleanse your inward being; to make you righteous? When is the last time you felt the pain and suffering of carrying your cross? How many times have you counted it joy to suffer temptations or trials? When is the last time you wept for our nation? If you were really honest with yourself, do you want Jesus or what He has to offer? Ouch, right? But really, we should rather ask ourselves now than wait for God to ask at the Judgement Seat. Truth is, we could all be doing better. Not because of works, but because we love Him. prosperity gospel #Christian |
