The day I had a tweezed uni-brow, shaved legs, a made bed, AND perfectly folded towels in my linen closet, I knew I had turned a corner.
We all know the Depression Trifecta: I don’t care, I don’t have the energy, and What’s the point?, which can lead to lackluster personal appearance and neglected housekeeping; which can lead to even more depression, which can lead to even more lacklus- you get the point.
So, when caring, energy and purpose all collided on the same day, I thought I hit the lottery. I was so happy, proud of myself- and inspired- that I even went to the gym!
I didn’t make the mistake of calling myself “cured,” (I did that before only to be extremely disappointed when the yuck returned), but I did fully and completely enjoy every single drop of emotional sunshine. I hope you have found these days (or even moments) along the path, as well.
Keep healing, my friends -M
